Panel Harga Pangan
OfficialInvestigatedThe national food agency’s food price panel, publishing producer, wholesale, and retail prices for strategic food commodities, alongside government reference prices.
Methodology
Prices are reported at several points in the supply chain by regional enumerators, and compared against government reference prices for each commodity.
Publisher documentation: https://badanpangan.go.id
Collection approach
Investigated and currently blocked. A REST API exists and is well structured, but its price endpoints require an API key. Its public geographic endpoints are already in use as the source of our administrative location dataset. Reporting both the observed price and the applicable reference price remains a requirement of any future price integration, since the gap between them is the policy-relevant figure.
Method: Machine-readable data feed
Feasibility findings
Measured 20 August 2026
- Access mechanism
- Undocumented first-party JSON APIA JSON endpoint the publisher’s own site uses. It works, but nothing commits the publisher to keeping it stable.
- Credentials
- Required, and not granted to us. Price data cannot be collected until access is requested and approved.
- Collection risk
- Access is restricted, requires credentials we do not hold, or is disallowed.
- Automated access
- api-panelhargav2.badanpangan.go.id/robots.txt: "User-agent: * / Disallow: /login / Disallow: /cms-panel". The data and geographic paths are not excluded.
- Historical depth
- Not measurable: the price endpoints are gated.
- Collection permission
- Unknown. Whether automated collection is permitted has not been investigated, and unknown is recorded rather than assumed favourable.
This is an engineering feasibility assessment, not legal advice. No authentication or access control was bypassed to produce it, and where terms could not be established the risk is recorded as unknown rather than assumed favourable.
Known limitations
- Price endpoints require an API key that has not been granted, so no price data is obtainable today.
- Producer, wholesale, and retail prices are distinct series and must never be mixed into one trend.
- Regional reporting completeness varies by commodity and by day.
- Government reference prices change by regulation, so a price-versus-reference comparison is only valid for the period the regulation covers.
