Methodology
Consumer price statistics are compiled from surveys across a defined set of Indonesian cities using a weighted basket of goods and services, following the published national CPI methodology.

- webapi.bps.go.id/robots.txt: "User-agent: * / Disallow: *"; root returns 403. www.bps.go.id allows "User-agent: *" but has an explicit "User-agent: ClaudeBot / Disallow: /" block alongside GPTBot, CCBot, and Bytespider, and sets Content-Signal: search=yes, ai-train=no, use=reference. sig.bps.go.id permits crawling (empty Disallow).

- Long official series available in principle; depth not measured because access is gated.

- Unknown. Whether automated collection is permitted has not been investigated, and unknown is recorded rather than assumed favourable.

Known limitations
- Official CPI is published monthly, so it cannot show within-month price movements.
- Figures are aggregated to city level and cannot be attributed to an individual market.
- Published series are subject to revision; a revision policy must be implemented before values are cached.
- The basket and its weights change periodically, which breaks naive long-run comparisons.
